We've also had one or two nice visits with Chrissie, Eric, and Serenity, but I didn't get my camera out. We mainly just played games and visited with a couple of trips to the park. Cocoa still isn't fond of the little ones.
Gavin took me to The Melting Pot for my birthday - and then got mushroom poisoning, which ended the evening rather abruptly by dosing him heavily with benadryl.
My major accomplishment of March was getting my veggie garden going - I rented at tiller and got the ground tilled up, put down some cotton hull compost, got lettuce, spinach, broccoli, potatoes, garlic, onions, shallots, and strawberries planted. I didn't water enough, I guess, and the lettuce and spinach haven't grown as much as I'd hoped (might be my very sad soil, though). I have eaten ONE strawberry, though... I do have great hopes for the onions/shallots/garlic, though, as their top bits do look very healthy and happy. I've never grown any of these things, though, so it could be I just don't know what to look for!
Since I'm on the theme and am going to have to go take pics anyway, last weekend (April 11th) I planted part 2 of the garden - tomatoes, summer squash, jalapeƱos, serrano peppers, some herbs, and repaired the fencing around the garden so that the dogs can be allowed in the dog run as necessary.
I am concerned that the tomatoes are too close together, but I ran out of room. I had to put one plant in the front garden. Originally I had planned to have to broccoli and lettuce out before I planted tomatoes, but we've had such nice weather that I decided not to wait. I may regret it later!
