Anyway, CJ seems to know "A" and "B" letter sounds, possibly due to day-care, but who knows, since they don't tell me anything. (grumble grumble)
"C" box on his shelf - Cups, Cucumber, Colors, Car, Cowboy, Cactus, Castle
"Crown" craft - this was lots of fun with glue and foam sheets. Worked really well.
We ate corn, cucumber, cold things, cantaloupe (he was NOT a fan!). Played with colors and cars and talked about circles and other shapes. I wan't sure how much to push the "SSSS" sound of "C". Is this confusing? He seems to get "A" and "B", but "C" has been harder. Perhaps because it doesn't start with the sound it usually makes?

She made fun of me for climbing on the stool to take that crown picture. Then she uses it! HA!
ReplyDeleteAh, "C" week. When it was "C" week for my young nephew I took him enough clown noses for his whole class. I still have a few. Let me know when it rolls around again.
ReplyDeleteI mostly ignored alternate sounds for letters until Serenity was pretty confident with all the letters. Then when she was starting to do words I'd just tell her when it made a different sound. =) Or I'd throw an offhand, sometimes the C says Sss. Silly C =)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your box this week =) Cups and colors! So cute!
