1. C had his 2 week checkup. Dr. Stacey was impressed that he had gotten up to 8 lb 3 oz since we had seen her last. He gained almost a pound in a week. Here are the stats:
-weight 8 lbs, 3 oz, 33 percentile (up 5 oz from birth)
-length 20.5 inches, 43 percentile (up 1.5 inches from birth)
-head cir 14.5 inches, 44 percentile (don't know what it was at birth)
I can't believe how quickly he is growing and changing!
2. Two Weeks deserves a cute picture, don't you think? I think dinosaurs are adorable. (-:
3. We finally have breast feeding mostly figured out. It was far more difficult than I could have imagined. Luckily I had great support from a friend who had gone through a lot to get her daughter breastfeeding, and from Gavin who was always ready to step in and tell me what a great job I was doing and not to give up. There were tears all around, but I think we've made it through the toughest part of THIS particular struggle.
4. I was suffering pretty badly from lack of sleep, breastfeeding frustration, hormones, etc, and so Gavin has been staying up to bottle feed Corwyn for the first feeding after I go to bed. This means I typically get 4-5 hours of nearly uninterrupted sleep (usually sort of wake up when they come to bed, but don't have to speak/move/etc, so it counts for me...). This has made me SO much more functional. I then attempt to let Gavin sleep through at least one feeding (though we're a bit noisy and this hasn't been working particularly well). However, it may all have to end because Corwyn seems to have problems getting milk if I skip a feeding which slides into longer crying fits and wake periods afterwards. For instance, last night was pretty rocky. Gavin once again stepped up and let me sleep while he got Corwyn to sleep. Have I mentioned how lucky I am to have such a fantastic husband???? Wow.
5. C got his first "real" bath yesterday. Of course he peed in the water immediately, but at least that was ALL... (-; He didn't even seem to mind it too much.
6. I'm trying to slip in just a little bit of scrapbooking between naps. I've made a very simple "December Daily" book - well, its on its way and obviously I will have to try and keep up with it as we swing into December. Just an 8.5x11" format with room for 1 pic and some journaling each day. I don't know what I'm going to do each day- but at the least it will be a fun chronicle of Corwyn's growth.
7. The dogs have been very good getting used to a new creature in the house. They are very curious, but are good about leaving him alone when we say "leave it" and going to their beds when we tell them to. They've gotten in a few foot sniffs, but I'm not letting them get any closer yet. They typically don't freak out when he cries at night now, and they certainly have not made any aggressive moves towards him. We are doing our best not to neglect them, but they are definitely noticing the difference in our behavior towards them. They miss our parents being here and giving them walks and attention!
8. We were SO lucky to have both grandmas here for 2 weeks and one grandad here for a week. They were great about taking care of Corwyn, but mainly fantastic about cooking and cleaning for us! It was SO great. When they left I immediately was sad that my dishwasher had lost its automatic load and unload function. (-;
9. I got to enjoy an hour or so of Christmas shopping with my mom before she left. It was nice to get out of the house on a non-baby related errand. Thanks Mom! (-:
10. I'm really enjoying this Mom-business. I love my little guy and am so glad to have him in my life. He has the sweetest little smile and makes the most adorable little cooing noises. I look forward to seeing him grow up!
Wow, he's still asleep. I was NOT expecting that! But he's showing signs of waking. Perfect timing! (-:

Hugs and love to you all! The first weeks are hard on so many levels, but that incredible love from you for your child and from those of us around you for you are there to help it a bit.
